THE National Futsal Team – Solomon Kurukuru – will kick off their trials today at the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Academy in Honiara.
This was confirmed by the SIFF-Futsal Department last weekend upon announcing the trial list that would go into intense trials in preparation for the prestigious OFC Futsal Men’s Cup in Honiara in September.
The trials will commence from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the SIFF Futsal Court.
The SIFF-Futsal Department has selected a total of 92 players, including overseas-based talents into the training squad, as preparations ramp up for a busy and competitive year ahead.
According to the SIFF-Futsal Department, most of the players were selected from the 10 clubs in the SIFF Super Futsal League (SSFL).
With the 92 players called up for trials and training, a number of familiar names in futsal in the country have also been drafted into the trials squad with the likes of Micah Lea’alafa, Albert Witney, Jack Witney and James Egeta.
