LAURU Kuvojo secured a point against high flying Temotu Arrows in the Solomon Cup Group A encounter, Tuesday at Lawson Tama.
Kuvojo coach Eddie Rukumana said he was pleased with the result.
“I think it’s a fair result, we were aiming for a win but unfortunately we came out with a draw.
“I accept the result seeing we have two more games remaining for us in the pool,” the former Solomon Islands international said.
Bouncing back from their defeat to Honiara Warriors on Sunday, the Kuvojo side earned a valuable point to keep their slim hopes alive in the Solomon Cup.
“We will try out best to take points available for us in the group.
“Today it was hard luck for us but I believe we still have plenty to play for,” he said.
The draw means with two games in hand, Lauru could make the last four with 6 valuable points still on offer.
His opposite number, Temotu Arrows coach Philip Meovle shared the same sentiments.
“We are happy with the otherwise we should have won the game only if our forwards converted our chances.
“There were mistakes at the back and it is an area where we need to work on going into the crucial stages of the tournament,” he said.
Like Lauru, a point still put the Arrows in a position to cement a place in the semi-finals.
The lads from Eastern Solomons could seal their fate as they also have two games in hand.
“I would like us to win our two remaining matches as there are 6 points yet to play for,” the Arrows coach added.
Meovle stressed his boys will not rest on their laurels going into the two crucial matches.
Pool A will reach its boiling point tomorrow when Honiara takes on Temotu and Lauru plays leaders Central Shield.
