PUBLISHER of the Solomon Star Company Limited, Catherine Lamani, yesterday hailed the launch of her company’s news magazine for Malaita as a historic and significant achievement for the newspaper.
She was speaking at the launch of Malaita Star at provincial capital Auki.
Mrs Lamani said the Malaita Star is not only an avenue for Malaitans to discuss the future of their province, but also a landmark development for the province.
She added the launch of the new publication marked a new era of her company’s expansion plans to the provinces.
“We have started off with our branch here in Auki and with it we have initiated and produced the Malaita Star, a product which aims at informing, educating and making people aware of the happenings in our province.
“It’s also an avenue for businesses to promote, advertise, and sell their products.
“That can all be achieved through this Malaita Star,” Ms Lamani said.
She also revealed that the company will expand its publication to other provinces in the near future.
Mrs Lamani called on the Malaitan community and business houses to show their support for the Malaita Star by contributing to its publication.
“Together we must build good and strong partnerships with each other so that we all help promote our province,” she said.
