Temotu province is mourning the loss of their provincial police commander (PPC) who passed away on Wednesday night at his resident in Lata, Temotu province.
A spokesperson from the Lata police station told the Solomon Star yesterday morning that late Fred Saeni collapsed at his residents after a short illness.
He was rushed to Lata hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The officer said Lata police and residents were saddened and shocked to hear the untimely sudden passing away of the police boss.
“All police officers are in a sad state over the loss and expressed their condolence to the family and relatives of late Saeni. He will be remembered for his good job in the province,” the Lata police spokesperson said.
Funeral arrangements are being made yesterday.
Its understood late Saeni served as PCC at several police stations around country before taking up post in Lata early this year.
