LAWYERS for East Guadalcanal Member of Parliament Bradley Tovosia and former Guadalcanal Premier Anthony Veke have made representations to the prosecution.
This is in relation to preliminary issues regarding evidential matters.
Prosecution however, needs time to respond to that representation.
State Prosecutor Augustine Aulanga who appeared in court yesterday said they need time to respond.
He said he had just received Veke’s representation from his lawyer.
As a result of that, Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Kouhota adjourned the matter to February 6.
By that time, prosecution will be in a position to inform the court of their respond.
Tovosia is facing one count of abuse of office and 13 counts of demanding with menaces while Veke is facing one count of abuse of office and one count of demanding with menace.
Both have already entered not guilty pleas to all the charges against them at an earlier court appearance.
The alleged incident occurred way back in July 2010, when Tovosia was working with the Guadalcanal Provincial Assembly and Veke as the Finance Minister for the province.
Anderson Kesaka of DNS & Partners law firm is representing Veke while Nuatali Tongarutu of ANT Legal Service is representing Tovosia.
