One of the leaders from Malaita, Hudson Jamin Maniasi has called on leaders to immediately step in and look for ways to address the recent social and religious movement in Malaita province.
He said that social movements like the current Kingdom movement in Malaita and Platform Movement in Makira Province cannot be ignored and needs immediate address.
He said that such movements are not only causing community’s disintegration but also causes disintegration at the national level.
“I appeal for church leaders as well as government leaders to immediately step in and look for ways to address these issues.
“Its about high time for the church to do more work in giving awareness and educating people about the word of God.”
He added that with the recent debated kingdom movement in Malaita, it should ring the bell for the leaders to open their eyes and ears for peoples cries.
Mr Maniasi also calls on the kingdom movement leader and followers to see their mistake and do come back to the mother church, SSEC.
“Whilst its our right to choose which ever religion we decide to follow, we need to make sure that we are on the right place.
“They should humble themselves and come back to the mother church other than fighting each other.”
He added that one of the areas, where leaders need to look into is to do awareness and counseling for followers of such social or religious movements.
Mr Maniasi is one of the followers of the Kingdom Movement in late 1990s.
In 2014 National General Election, Platform movement followers in Makira boycotted the election where its members do not register for voting or even vote.
