Dear Editor – I write to support sentiments expressed by Ishmael A. Nori in your letters column on 19 May 2016.
In his letter Nori called on young people to turn their eyes to the nation’s current leadership and see that we no longer have the kind of leaders we used to have.
Today, our political leaders simply forget about the people.
The moment they enter parliament, they tend to care more about themselves than the people.
We see that today.
I’m afraid if the trend continues, we will soon become spectators in our own land.
Most of our state lands are now in the hands of foreigners.
This is happening because our leaders allowed it to happen.
I join Mr Nori to urge young people to rise up and see to the current leadership situation.
We need leaders who care about the people and nation.
Paul Fo’ori
