Dear Editor – As a concerned citizen, I registered my deep concern regarding issues of leadership and corruption in relation to abuse of power by institution leaders in Solomon Island.
Our leaders should exemplify integrity and adhere to motto,” To lead is to serve.”
Unfortunately, many officials continue to engage in unethical behavior practices despite their promising transparency and accountability.
This undermines public trust and hinders development in institutions.
A recent incident, still under investigation, involved suspension of staff member for misconduct and using it for personal gain.
Such pervasive corruption not only tarnishes the reputation of our institution but also undermines public trust in their leaders.
It is imperative that all institution staff prioritize transparency in their work processes and actively implement anti-corruption measures.
The future of our nation hinges on the leadership values adopted by those in power.
Sincerely
Angella Dauasi
