Dear Editor – Joss Vyleu I refer to your letter in the Solomon Star[Monday 11th] re leaf huts. Don’t you know there are 2 standards for buildings in and around Honiara?
Those who do what they want and do not apply and us who do the right and legal thing and apply for a permit to build.
If you don’t apply you don’t get seen by the building inspectors and can do what you like. If you apply you will be hammered [annoyed] by the building inspectors. I believe you can get the building inspectors to go away by giving them “incentives”, I will not.
The so called “canteens” that are coming up in-front of every second house either leaf or permanent are just one example.
I see some of the larger companies who use agencies are not helping by giving these illegal buildings agencies.
