A THREE days training on how to maintain solar panels and their accessories was held in Taro, Choiseul Province.
The basic solar maintenance training was facilitated by Inter Action SI Ltd with funds made possible by Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Communities in and around Taro attended the training held at Taro.
Managing Director of Inter Action Solomon Island Ltd Amithesh Kuma said, about 15 people mostly women attended the training since Monday.
He said the aim of the training is to teach these women and men basic skills on how to maintain their solar equipment,” Mr Mr Kuma said.
The Managing Director said most of the times rural people are unable to afford the cost of paying for technicians to provide basic solar maintenance for them.
“So this training will help those rural dwellers to have some basic ideas so that they can be able to maintain their solar panels whenever there is a problem.”
Mr Kuma said its good to see the participants very keen to learn.
He urged the participants to utilise the skills upon returning to their respective villages.
The training ends today.
