TWO Naha Women’s Football Club players have selected as two recipients of the Pacific Games 2023 Legacy Scholarship.
The duo, Rashida Mekawir and Almah Gogoni signed their contracts with the Solomon Islands Football federation (SIFF) recently.
The club management has congratulated the two players for the selection.
It said the club is happy for the duo, encouraging them to strive for the best and achieve their dreams in football.
“These are the types of achievements the club is so proud o, setting up our young women to achieve their dreams.
“Ladies, uphold your end of the contract conditions and commit yourself to a lifetime opportunity.
“Naha FC Management and Executive will standby you both and ensure that we provide the right type of support and resources to ensure that you do well.
“We wish you all the best ladies,” they said.
The PG2023 Legacy Scholarships is an initiative by the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) to create a positive legacy with football athletes that will contribute to their ability to be productive citizens of Solomon Islands.
This is based on a desire for football to impact up positively on lives of athletes empowering them not only in sports but in fields of work that will lead them broader roles for nation building in Solomon Islands.
