Malaita under-16 women’s soccer team will appear in red when they arrive in Honiara for this week’s invitational championship.
Auki business LF & Sons Enterprise sponsored the t-shirts and match uniform.
Owner of LF & Sons Levi Filualea said his business was pleased to assist in this way to ensure the girls are ready for the championship.
“Supporting a provincial sports team is the best thing I could do,” Filualea said.
“I am happy to be part of this province under-16 team that will represent Malaita in the national championship,” he added.
“My donation is not just for the sake of giving but supporting the younger generation in the area of sport,” he said.
Filualea appealed to other Malaita businesses to get involved and support sports in the province.
LF & Sons is the major sponsor of Aimela FC, which won the Malaita Telekom league championship last year.
Coach of the under-16 women’s side Frank Taeburi thanked Malaita Football Association and LF & Sons for supporting the team.
He said they’ve prepared well for the Honiara tournament and hope to do their best.
