$5k for young Sidi to undergo medical review

A LEADING clothing company in Honiara has stepped in to support a one year old baby to undergo a life saving medical review overseas.
Island Clothing Limited last week donated SBD$5,000 to assist Peter Sidi Junior to undergo a medical review in Australia.
This is the latest business firm to assist young Sidi, joining other individuals in supporting his family financially.
Sidi was born with a complex congenial heart condition that even the National Referral Hospital (NRH) in Honiara does not have the capacity to do this type of surgery.
He traveled to India last November undergoing surgery, but now he needs further medical attention to keep him alive.
Last Friday, the Island Clothing Management donated the money through a cheque to his mother, Lyn Sidi at Island Clothing Shop in Point Cruz.
The Cheque is part of the firm’s quarterly donation that was normally given out to those who are in need of financial help.
The management spokesman said Peter Sidi deserves this timely help from everybody, because he needs to go to Australia for his medical review.
“I saw Peter Sidi’s need in seeking financial assistance becoming viral via the social media.
“Therefore, the Island Clothing management would like to assist him by giving this Cheque, to help him attend his medical review in Sydney at West Mid Childrens Hospital.
“To give him another chance in life to survive for many years is what the Island Clothing wants,” said the spokesman.
The spokesperson added, Island Clothing does not only run business to serves itself, but also donates cash to help people in Solomon Islands, and Sidi is accountable to their financial help.
The mother on behalf of the family also expressed gratitude to the management of the Island Clothing for such a kind and huge donation.
“On behalf of Sidi’s family, I would like to thank the management of Island Clothing for financially supporting our little hero,” the emotional mother said.
“His medical review is very important, because it will tell the progress of the first surgical treatment,” she added.
Meanwhile, the family of young Sidi is still conducting fundraising drives to raise much needed funds to make the trip.
