Dear Editor – It’s sad to note that someone who wanted to attend church was run over in a traffic accident on a Sunday morning recently.
Pedestrians who walk to church or drive to church and elsewhere must be very careful and be on alert and watch out when walking along the road.
Because death is right at every door and in any form especially on early Sunday mornings along the road to church.
So pedestrians walking to church on early mornings on Sundays are vulnerable to become victims, especially from sleepy drunken drivers.
It is manslaughter to hit a person when under the influence of alcohol, sitting behind the wheel all night, or taking off hastily after a night of drinking large amounts of alcohol.
It’s not good to drive at all if one had been drinking all throughout the night.
So it is important for pedestrians to always watch out for speeding vehicles.
This message cannot be repeated again and again. We don’t want to see lives taken because of someone’s wrong decisions and carelessness.
Our beloved country must not allow such death to happen to our children and citizens of this country. Losing a son or a daughter is a very sad experience.
God Bless Solomon Islands!
