INDIVIDUALS who play the role of lobbyists at each of the political camps during the process of electing the Prime Minister and the formation of the government have been heavily criticised.
A prominent public servant, who asked not to be named, said lobbyists should be investigated and held accountable for their evil acts of luring MPs with promises of big money and or passing on huge money into the hands of MPs.
The officer said these people are engaging in corrupt practices and they should be arrested for that.
“They were paid huge money to do this job. They are the agents of corrupt leaders who try to lure MPs for political gains to serve certain people’s interests and not that of this nation,” he said.
“Therefore relevant authorities must step in. For these guys play big roles in the instability of the camps resulting in the movement of MPs from one camp to another is corruption,” he added.
He stressed that some of these people have been going around with money to give to these MPs at some point.
He added these lobbyists and agents are the ones who come out publically to play their cronies’ evil plans.
“They should be arrested and charged for their role, because this is a corrupt act and they should not be doing that.
“Because if these guys stop practicing this evil acts, members of each camp should just remain intact,” the officer added.
He further stressed that police should be monitoring this practice closely and look out for those individuals hiding out there, who backed the various camps with money to ensure their supported camps come into power to serve their interests.”
The Solomon Star has been spotting these lobbyists and agents at these camps since day one of the camps.
Meanwhile, the officer called for tougher measures to be implemented to stop such practice, because it encourages MPs to accept bribes.
