It’s almost three weeks after a flooded water cut off part of a road at Anonakinaki area in West Kwaio Malaita province and yet the government is still to take immediate action to fix the road condition.
The situation has become a center of frustration to the public particularly the transport operators and people in West Kwaio.
Report reaching this paper said the farmers and transport operators in West Kwaio are experiencing the impact of that disaster since early this month.
It was reported that the vehicles operating the West Kwaio rout are still having problem at that area.
The part of the road was cut off by a flooding water after a heavy rain early this month.
This resulted to farmers have to dig deeper into their pockets to travel with their produce to Auki market on two separate transport fares.
This has triggered an extra cost and charges to poor farmers and rural people who normally try their best to earn living with small business and market earning.
It further stated that the situation is now becoming a disturbing factor to most rural people and transport operators.
A Pineapple farmer in West Kwaio confirmed that the deteriorate road at Anonakinaki is yet to be fix by the government.
He said the issue of road at Anonakinaki is really a disturbing experience for population in West Kwaio constituency.
He calls on the government to quickly respond and fix the road to allow flow of traffic in West Kwaio area.
Attempt to contact Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development for comment was not successful.
