Gigira Laitepo United in Papua New Guinea (PNG) National Soccer League NSL has signed Patrick Miniti Jr as the club is looking to boost its campaign this year.
This was confirmed by Miniti Jr in an interview with the Star Sports from Port Moresby yesterday.
According to Gigira team manager Thomas Taberia, the signing of Miniti Jr who is a former Solomon Islands national soccer player in the under 17 and under 20 some years ago would add the needed skill in the midfield and mental skill to control the game for the club.
During his school days at the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG), Miniti was a seasoned footballer who plays for the Mungkas in Port Moresby, but due to school commitment he quits to concentrate on his studies which saw him completed his studies in 2014 and work as a lawyer in PNG to this day.
The soft spoken Miniti said, he was very thankful for the club management for having confidence in him where he said he will try his best to deliver for the club.
He said the soccer environment in PNG is not new to him as he spends the last five years in PNG and already adapted well to the environment.
Miniti is one of the six players that the club signed during the transfer window to beef up the strength of the team as the club prepared for the round two challenge of the southern conference which will kick off this coming weekend.
