A LOGGING executive who is facing an attempted murder charge in relation to the brutal stabbing incident that occurred early this month at the Kingsly Food Bar, Honiara, will appear in court today, Wednesday.
Malaysian Pau Kiu Den, owner of Samlimsan logging company, will appear with his co-accused Ben Alami, Buddley Fakani and Frank Fakani.
Den was accused of conspiring with the locals who allegedly attacked Rennell chief Poly Tepai at the Food Bar.
Mr Tepai was having a meal with another Asian and a local on November 8, when Ben Alami allegedly came from behind and hacked him with a 60 centimetre-long knife.
Doctors were however, able to save his hand and life, and he has since been discharged.
The accused men after allegedly stabbing Tepai, then escaped in a waiting car parked close to the Food Bar.
Mr Tepai flew in from his village into Honiara, arriving around 10am and made his way from the airport to Kingsley Food Bar when he was attacked.
He believed his attackers must have trailed him from the airport to the food bar at Point Cruz.
The incident was said to be related to a logging dispute on Rennell island.
