People of Reef Island, Temotu province will today witness a team from the ministry of civil aviationto conduct the final inspection at the Lomlom airport.
Director of aviation George Satu is leading the delegation with a survey officer and officials from of Temotu provincial government to conduct the final inspections.
They will leave 6am this morning by a chartered chopper.
The aviation director said the inspection today is a milestone achievement by the NCRA gov’t for Temotu province.
“Today is the day people of Temotu more especially those on Reef islands should proud and happy of.
“This runway has been one of the major projects of NCRA gov’t including the Munda runway.People of Temotu should be proud of this airport. Once approved after the final inspection it wouldopen next month,” he said.
The delegation is expected back this afternoon.
