Malaita for Democracy (M4D) Movement has call on the responsible authorities to keep an open eye for Chinese citizens doing business in Auki who are away to China for the Chinese New Year celebration.
M4D President Knoxley Atu said six Chinese national doing business in Auki are in China for the Chinese New Year celebration which fall on the 25 of January this month and will be returning to the country soon.
Mr.Atu said the Chinese nationals should be tested by health authorities upon return and if found to have contracted Coronavirus then they should not be allowed to re-enter the country for health reasons.
M4D made the call following the deadly Coronavirus outbreak recorded in China this year, which now being declared as a global emergency.
He said the health and lives of Malaitans back home is important and should be protected from the killer virus.
He said refusing to give entry permit for the six Chinese nationals at this stage is the best option for the country and Malaita.
Mr.Atu said they are monitoring Chinese business people movement in and out from Auki where he said from data six after away in China in the light of the Coronavirus outbreak.
