MALAITA for Democracy (M4D) President Knoxly Atu last Friday welcomed the Deputy Chief of Party for Winrock International Solomon Islands Dr. Morgan Wairiu.
The brief welcome ceremony was held at the Auki Central Market at 2 pm and was attended by members of the public.
During the brief welcome ceremony, Dr. Morgan was asked to make some announcements to the public regarding the US-funded projects focusing on Malaita.
The presence of Winrock Deputy Chief of Party in Auki triggered a sense of belief among nonbelievers that Winrock is actually coming to implement the USAID of about SBD$200 million on Malaita.
Speaking during the event last Friday, M4D President Mr. Atu said the people of Malaita are eagerly waiting for Winrock and other NGOs to implement the US-funded projects in the Province.
With that, the M4D President said the presence of the Winrock International Deputy Chief of Party in Malaita is an indication that the US-funded project on the island is now ready to start.
