Mr Maefai said now that he has been elected, he is looking forward to repay the people of East Makira, the faith, confidence and trust that they have bestowed upon him to represent them as their new voice in Parliament.
According to Mr Maefai, he is looking forward in working with his people not only as their national leader in Parliament but also as someone who belongs to and is part of East Makira Constituency to address and to achieve sustainable development goals that has been lacking within the constituency in the past.
Mr Maefai said the most crucial roadmap that he would be embarking upon within his first term as MP is to focus mainly on development through commercial activities to give opportunities and empower the people of the constituency to improve their standard of living.
Of the 4 Makira Ulawa Constituencies, Mr Maefai is the only new comer to Parliament with the other three incumbents Derrick Manuari, William Marau and Nestor Ghiro successfully retaining their seats in the recent General Elections.
