PASSENGERS traveling West ward from the main market are urged to wait in front of the Low Price Enterprise to get a public bus.
The same message was issued to public buses to stop in front of the shop instead of stopping opposite the main market.
The Honiara City Council (HCC) and Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIP) are have closed down the bus stop because it disturbs the flow of traffic.
The move started on Wednesday this week.
HCC Clerk Charles Kelly said it is important that public bus drivers and passengers adhere.
“The market bus stop has been closed down since JICA road project is about to start ,therefore I’m urging all bus drivers in Honiara to uses the new low price bus stop ,’’Mr Kelly said.
He said the underground pass close to the new bus stop has been reopened for ease of access for pedestrians.
He said police will continue to man the area until passengers and bus driver get the new location as the new bus stop.
He said the two main market bus stops had been slowing down the flow of traffic everyday therefore the traffic tension has to be dealt with.
