The Honiara Central Market will close today due to the proposed motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare.
The Honiara City Mayor Eddie Siapu has told Solomon Star, Sunday.
Mr Siapu said the closure of Honiara Central Market is for the safety of market vendors.
“This is for the safety of our people and especially the market vendors,” Mr Siapu said.
He added this is because most vendors lived outside of Honiara.
Meanwhile, City Mayor Siapu said this is also to avoid crowds from assembling.
