Makira/Ulawa province is preparing for their second appointed day set to be held on Monday.
Provincial police commander (PPC) Richard Hane said that his officers along with other groups are preparing ahead of the important day by conducting rehearsals.
“We do rehearsals which includes students, womens group, Dorcas and cultural.”
Various activities will be featured during the day. These included custom dances, band contest organised by World Vision Solomon Islands and more
Police will also provide a full security patrol at during time to ensure people celebrate the day in peace.
Meanwhile, he appealed to the people of Makira province to prepare and respect the event.
