TEN High Schools in Malaita Province will benefit from a computer lab installation project financed by the Mala-I-Tolo Initiative.
Mala-I-Tolo Programme Manager Philip Subu confirmed the commencement of the programme yesterday which saw the installation of the first computer lab at the Auki Community High School (CHS).
The next school to benefit from the Mala-I-Tolo funded project is the Aligegeo Provincial Secondary School (PSS) with the installment of its donated computers expected to take place towards the end of this week.
This will be followed by Kilusakwalo CHS, Maoro CHS, Gwaidingale CHS, Su’u NSS, St John Dala CHS, Arnon Atomea PSS, Adaua CHS and Rokera PSS respectively.
Mr Subu said Mala-I-Tolo is giving out 50 laptops and other IT equipment to the ten schools, adding that some these schools already received laptops last year and that the donation of laptops this year is an additional assistance to boost the number of laptops already at the schools.
He said Mala-Tolo Initiative targets Form Four students to provide them with access to the online learning platform it created for students.
Mr Subu said Mala-I-Tolo is happy to invest in the human resource of Malaita Province and Solomon Islands.
