MALAITA has a new chief education officer.
He is Andy Siarani, who took up the post after it was left vacant a few months ago.
Mr Siarani is the current principal of Auki Community High School (ACHS).
A statement from Malaita Education Authority saidthe appointment was made two weeks ago.
The statement said MrSiarani is still waiting for the Public Service to issue him his formal letter of appointment before he could start working.
“However, he is our new chief education officer,” the statement said.
The post was left vacate after the former CEO Titus Fika tendered his resignation after making his intention clear to contest the West Kwaio seat in the November 19 election.
Mr Fika served the province for over 11 years.
