THE Malaita Provincial Assembly is currently without a Deputy Speaker after its Deputy Speaker Joe Heroau recently joined the MARA government.
The Deputy Speaker’s position was left vacant and by the look of things, the former MARA Deputy Premier Randol Sifoni is the most likely candidate to fill up the vacant position.
Solomon Star Auki was informed that Sifoni has been in talks with the MARA executive recently to mend their differences.
Information gathered stated that Mr. Sifoni is most likely to be the new Deputy Speaker to replace Mr Heroau.
In the meantime, Ronnie Butala still maintains his position as the Speaker of the Malaita Provincial Assembly.
He is awaiting a motion of no confidence against him when the Full Assembly meets on Monday 22 November for the budget meeting.
