WITH less than a week before the country goes into poll, Auki, Malaita Province has witnessed mass arrival of voters and supporters flooding in from Honiara on ships.
Voters started arriving in huge numbers since last week.
Over the past days Auki has witnessed ships being loaded with people most of the voters and supporters from Honiara.
Most of them have arrived to cast their vote in their respective constituencies come next Wednesday.
Speaking to a voter on arrival on board Pelican Express he said that he was happy to return and cast his vote in Central Kwara’ae constituency.
He said that he is looking forward for the day to cast his ballot and claimed his candidate already won the victory.
“I want to cast my vote in my constituency because my vote counts and can make a difference or change in my constituency if my candidate wins this election,” he said.
In Auki, ships are arriving with shiploads of voters from Honiara on a daily basis.
Intending candidates are chartering ships and hiring vehicle for their supports to transport them to their constituencies.
And over the past days, Auki has been very busy.
Meanwhile, election is the talk of the moment every where in Auki as the fever is boiling up and the polling day is drawing nearer.
Vehicles and transport services are also busy transporting people to the Northern and Eastern region of Malaita as people continue to arrive.
MV Chanella which was also chartered by a candidate arrived last night with more people.
More boats are expected to arrive today and in the coming days before Wednesday.
