In the light of Covid-19 community transmission in Auki, Malaita Province, the Malaita Provincial Government (MPG) has come up with procedures to adhere to prevent the spread of covid-19 community transmission.
In an extraordinary meeting held on Monday this week, the MARA executive has come up with six control measures to comply with to allow the Provincial Government to operate as usual.
Those six control measures were placed on notice boards for public and provincial workers to abide by with immediate effect.
The notice with the six measures reads, “The Malaita Provincial Administration based on the Provincial Executive decision on COVID 19 is applying the new normal procedures as priority to prevent the fast spread of COVID-19 Community Transmission in Malaita Province.
Control Measure 1: Our securities will only allow people who wear protective masks only to make appointments at our gate prior to your coming in contact with our staff.
Control Measure 2. We do not entertain any visitors who come into our office compound for story telling under the mango tree.
Control Measure 3. Anyone who is not vaccinated please do not come to our office premises because we will not allow you to enter our gate.
Control Measure 4. To immediate family members, tribal family members and wantoks please make a mobile call to someone you wish to see prior to your coming.
Control Measure 5. Practice social distancing when coming to our office compound. We will only allow one in one contact at a time. We will not entertain crowd movements into our office compound.
Control Measure 6. Our service and office will be operating in a minimal mode as office doors will close so please knock and wait for your turn to enter the office you wish to enter.
The notice ended with this; “COVID 19 Community Transmission is real and we are making sure our staff are safe within their work environment.”
