MALAITA Province will host the next Premiers conference in 2017.
Malaita Premier, Peter Channel Ramohia said the province welcomes the announcement and is very pleased and enthusiastic to host the prestigious conference.
“All other provinces have had their turn and we are so grateful for the co-hosts of the recent premier’s conference, Honiara City Council and Guadalcanal Province,” he said.
Premier Ramohia said he extends his gratitude and appreciation to colleague premiers and the Honiara City Mayor for having confidence in Malaita Province hosting the next meeting.
He said the responsibility now rests on Malaita Provincial Government and its people to showcase their unique culture and hospitality to the visitors during the event.
“We welcome you to Auki in 2017,” he said.
Minister for Provincial Government and Institution Strengthening, Augustine Auga congratulated Malaita province for being the next host to the 9th Premiers Conference.
“We will certainly see you Auki in 2017,”said Mr Auga.
He said the next host will have that unique opportunity as one of the biggest provinces in showcasing its unique cultures, landscapes and its people to share and learn together with other sister provinces.
“Likewise, my Ministry will surely work closely with the Malaita provincial government in ensuring that the 9th Premiers conference will be successful like that of previous conferences, “he said.
