MALAITA Province has expressed its commitment to collaborate with the national government, development partners, resource owners and investors to drive growth and development.
This pledge was made by Premier Elijah Asilaua at the launch of the new Solomon Islands Postal Corporation (SIPC) Office in Auki last week.
The new facility provides a range of services, including Fintech with Ezi Pei, e-wallet, foreign currency exchange, EMS and e-commerce support.
Premier Asilaua highlighted the importance of improving infrastructures, such as roads, bridges, energy and telecommunication, to enable the people in the province to access the services offered by SIPC.
He said the Malaita Provincial Government is committed to fostering both local and international trade as it recognises these as key drivers of economic growth and development.
Premier Asilaua also reiterated his government’s dedication to the Solomon Islands National Broadband Infrastructure Project, which aims to enhance connectivity across the country.
“Our partnership with the national government and development partners in completing the National Broadband Infrastructure Project, including the construction of telecommunications towers, is vital to boosting trade and investment.
“This will open up opportunities in e-commerce, giving local entrepreneurs and businesses access to both regional and international markets. It will also create jobs and increase income for our people,” Premier Asilaua said.
