FIFTY four schools throughout Malaita province will receive agriculture tools and materials funded for by the New Zealand Government.
This is part of a education development program of the ministry of education and human resources through the New Zealand government.
The aim is to boost schools’ agriculture curriculums and also encourage farming for schools in the provinces throughout the country.
Distribution of the materials started yesterday in Auki and will continue throughout schools in the Central region and then onwards to other regions in the province.
Education officer Jackson Rahe confirmed that some materials have been offloaded for distribution in schools within the Central, Eastern and Southern regions whilst the vessel carrying additional materials will continue distributing to other schools in the Northern region.
“Schools that we (provincial education authority) find easier to distribute by trucks will have all its materials offloaded in Auki whereas other schools in other regions such as the Northern region will have their materials offloaded to them by the shipping vessel,” Mr Rahe said.
Mr Rahe meanwhile uttered the provinces gratitude toward the Solomon Islands government for such initiative which he said will very much help agriculture curriculum and also farming in all schools in Malaita.
