MALAITA Province has conveyed its gratitude to the government and the people of the United State of America (USA) for supporting development in Malaita Province.
Speaking at the launch of the grant under the Forest Development Fund (FDF) in Auki last Thursday afternoon in Auki, Premier Suidani, thanked the US government and its people for the support.
Premier Suidani in his speech highlighted the longstanding relationship between USA, Malaita and Solomon Islands, which started during the Second World War.
“I must on behalf of the people of Malaita Province and the MARA government convey our deepest heart felt and sincere gratitude to the government and the people of the United States of America for your support towards the development of Malaita Province and indeed the Solomon Islands.”
“As we know, the relationship between the people of Malaita, the Solomon Islands and the USA has a long history.”
“In a nutshell, that of fighting to preserve freedom, liberty and the democratic rights of mankind and the international rules-based order.”
“The relationship has borne fruits numerous times in Solomon Islands and today, we are witnessing that here in Malaita Province.”
