Malaita Province will soon assign a day in August as a day of prayer for the province.
Malaita Provincial Premier Daniel Suidani confirmed this in an interview over the weekend.
“One day on the month of August will be declared as a day of prayer for the province,” he said.
Premier Suidani said August is a special month for the province given the fact that the provincial second appointed day falls on the month of August.
He said the executive already approved this.
“Consultation is currently underway with church leaders in the province to come up with a suitable day on the month of August to be set as the provincial day of prayer,” he said.
He said once a day is agreed on the province will announce it.
With that, he said the practice will start this August and will be an annual event in the Malaita provincial calendar.
