TEAM Malaita will compete in all nine sports in the 2023 Solomon Games event which will kick off today in Honiara.
Team Malaita will be competing in the nine sporting codes namely; Volleyball, Netball, Basket Ball 3×3, Rugby 7s, Taekwondo, Boxing, Canoeing, Athletics, and Beach Volleyball.
Malaita Province who has proven in the past as one of the heavy contenders in the Solomon Games event is looking forward to a good start in all sporting codes they will be competing in.
Speaking to Star Sports, Eddie Omokirio said Team Malaita is looking forward to competing in the Solomon Games sporting event.
He said their aim is to collect as many medals as possible for the Province.
He called on Malaitans in Honiara to come forward and cheer for Team Malaita.
Omokirio meanwhile thanked those who supported the team in one way or the other in their preparations for the Games.
He also thanked the team coaches and managers for putting their efforts together and wished them all the best in their respective competitions in the coming days.
Team Malaita contingent to the Solomon Games comprises of a total of 146 athletes and officials.
