THE Malaita Provincial Government has endorsed a survey form to be used next year to seek views of Malaitans regarding Malaita self-autonomy status.
Premier Daniel Suidani confirmed this Thursday this week.
He said the MARA government has already identified people who will be carrying out the historical survey.
The Premier said the survey is aiming at collecting data with views of all Malaitans living in Malaita, Honiara, other provinces, and abroad.
He said those who were identified to carry out the survey will go through a workshop towards the end of the month before rolling out the survey in January 2022.
He said results from the survey is of great importance to the Malaita Province as it will be used to decide if Malaitans are fully agreed on the road to self-autonomy status.
With that, the Premier has called on all Malaitans to participate in the survey and give their honest views on the subject matter.
While some Malaita MPs within the national government dislike the idea of Malaita going for self-autonomy, the Premier said the survey will reveal the truth about what Malaitans want moving forward.
