THE Malaita Provincial Government, under the leadership of Premier Elijah Asilaua, are set to launch their policy document on the province’s Second Appointed Day next month.
Malaita Province’s Second Appointed Day is August 15.
The policy document launch is a priority of the Premier Asilaua government, which places topmost priority on the development of the country’s most populous province.
In a brief interview with Solomon Star yesterday, Premier Asilaua confirmed that his government will launch the policy on Malaita Day.
He explained that his executive has decided to launch the important document on the big day of the province to allow villagers, officials from the national government and other dignitaries to attend.
Premier Asilaua said the policy document is now in the process of completion and will be ready to be launched on August 15.
He also assured the Malaita public that preparations for the Malaita Day celebrations are set.
“The celebrations will actually start on August 11 with the opening of stalls, which will be followed by the Malaita Day of Prayer on August 13,” Premier Asilaua added.
It is understood that the Malaita Provincial Government employees cleaned up the site for celebration last week.
The cleanup was led by Premier Asilaua and senior Malaita Provincial government officials.
