THE Malaita public last Wednesday were full of praise for Auki based Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) for the professionalism in their duties shown during the event in Auki.
Speaking to Solomon Star Auki yesterday, M4D President Knoxly Atu thanked police for their wisdom in handling the issue which resulted in no property damage or injuries.
Mr Atu said the Malaita public is full of respect for Auki police.
“…….for their great understanding, by allowing people to show their democratic rights and frustration to their elected leaders in a tense, but peaceful manner.
He said since 2019, a number of peaceful public protests have been carried out in Auki in the presence of police which resulted in no death, property damage or injuries.
Atu said Auki police deserve recognition for their bravery.
With that, he said should police use force, thing will definitely turn out badly that day.
“The use of wisdom is proven effective compared to force as witnessed last Wednesday, when thousands of Malaitans turned up showing their support behind the MARA government.
“This was when they demanded the motion of no confidence against Premier Daniel Suidani must be withdrawn,” he said.
