A MALAITA man has expressed gratitude with the Democratic Coalition for Change Government for the assurance made on Tuesday on development projects earmarked for Malaita.
George Ramo said people of Malaita should also be happy that the DCC has assured the province of its commitment to see the projects implemented.
The DCC yesterday in a statement assured the province and pledge to work together with the new Malaita executive.
The National projects in Malaita include the Bina harbor project, Auluta Basin Oil palm project and Suafa project in North Malaita and Waisisi development project in Southern region of Malaita Province.
“These are the major projects that I think once prioritize will boost the economy of this country and attract the country’s manpower back to Malaita.
“Other projects earmarked for other provinces should also be considered,” he said.
He said that prioritizing those projects is a way forward to unlocking the economy woes facing the country.
“I believe if DCC remains focus and strong on its priority areas of development, this country will see drastic changes in the not too distant future,” he said.
Another Malaitan Casper Diau said Malaitans must support the current regime and urge their MPs to work actively.
“Let us share ideas and stop criticizing.
“It’s important that the government passes the national budget before we could asses and make constructive criticism.
“But DCC must be given time and space to implement its polices and development plans.”
He added that Solomon Islands is exporting almost nothing major.
“But you see, we have manpower, know-how and the resources. We have to struggle and that we must work together with the DCC government.
“We want a strong and healthy government to serve the country’s interest.
“Therefore I call on all Malaitan MPs whether you’re on the government or opposition side to work together with DCC and make the change people want to see happen.”
