A PROPOSED Malaita Vector Borne Disease Control Program (MVBDCP) survey scheduled to start this month has been postponed for February next year.
Ministry of Health (MOH) and Vector Borne Disease Control Program (MVBDCP) postponed the survey.
Malaria indicator survey coordinator Charles Ghambu said they postponed the survey to February during the wet season when the mosquito population is expected to increase.
“February is in the wet season so it would be a good time to carry out the survey,” Mr Ghambu said.
The survey is to help authorities understand well the malaria situation in the country.
Mr Ghambu said preparation for the survey is on tract.
Meanwhile, he said other programs such as distribution of bed nets, spraying, and blood testing for this year will continue.
