SEVENTY percent of babies born on Christmas day at the National Referral Hospital (NRH) in Honiara are male while 30 percent are female.
Staff nurse in-charge of the maternity ward said of the 18 babies born on Christmas day at the maternity labor ward, 12 were male while six were female.
She said the 18 babies were conceived at the labor ward between 12 midnight on 25th December to 12 midnight 26th December 2015.
She told the Solomon Star that every baby born was healthy and discharged the next day.
She said staff nurses at the ward were very happy to witness the birth of very healthy babies. Eve.”
“These babies are gifts to us from God, therefore we must thank him for entrusting us and giving us these babies, so we need to look after and care for them,” she said.
