The High Court will this afternoon sentence a man who raped his wife in 2013.
The man who cannot be named to protect the identity of his wife, earlier denied the charge and the matter went before Justice Francis Mwanesalua for trial early this month.
He however changed his pleas after his wife was in the progress of being cross-examined by the defence.
Guilty pleas were then entered on the charges of three counts of rape, two counts of indecent assault and one count of common assault in relation to the incidents in 2013.
The accused was said to be angry when he committed rape offences on his wife where he also used objects to indecently assault his wife with.
Henry Kausimae is representing the accused while Public Prosecutors Florence Joel and Jasper Anisi represents the Crown.
