THE man who lied to three women using different names and titles and obtained money from two of them has been sentenced to a total of three months in prison.
Jared Sialo was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to one count of larceny from a person, one count of common assault and three counts of false pretence.
Another charge of rape against him, which he pleaded not guilty to, has been already committed to the High Court for trial.
Sialo lied to three females in Honiara on three different occasions between 15 October 2021 and 7 February this year.
He was driving cars he hired from the taxi fleet services in town when he committed the offences.
He picked up his first victim in a car he drove at Point Cruz on 15 October 2021.
Three days later, he picked her up again and allegedly raped her inside the car, whilst it was parked beside the road side opposite the Panatina Plaza.
On 29 October 2021, Sialo picked her up again and stole her phone when he dropped off her at the Kwaimani Building.
Four days later, Sialo slapped the same victim after she refused to get into the car he drove at that time.
On other dates between 7 February and 11 February this year, Sialo lied and obtained $1,600 from two other young women.
He asked them for money to pay for his container at the Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) which he promised to refund later.
He also told one of them that he is an Agent for mobile phones sold at the AJ City Mall at Lungga and had financial problems to pay out his container charges at SIPA.
However, he failed to repay their money.
Sialo also lied to his victims that he was a doctor at the National Referral Hospital and an Officer at the Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) and used different names.
