PARLIAMENTARY Opposition Leader Honorable Jeremiah Manele has offered his congratulations to the Solomon Islands Football Team.
In a statement on Wednesday, Mr Manele said it is indeed a proud moment for the country as Solomon Islands once again regain its status as one of the best in the region after more than a decade.
“As your alternative leader, I would like to congratulate the coach, his staff and all the players on behalf of myself, my office and the rest of the Parliamentary Opposition MPs,” he said.
Mr Manele in his congratulatory message said Solomon Islands football is two steps away from creating history; by earning a place in the World Cup in Russia next year.
“I believe through commitment, hard work, determination and discipline we can create history. And despite the challenges we face as a nation you have proved that the power of sport can unite a nation,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Opposition Leader on behalf of his Office has offered best wishes to the team as they prepare to take on New Zealand in the home and away series final.
