THE National Development Fund (NDF) has been labelled as a ‘disuniting fund’ and is meant for those in the government.
John Maneniaru Member of Parliament (MP) for West Are’Are raised this in Parliament yesterday during the Sine Die motion.
“This NDF is a disuniting fund since day one,” he said.
He said when he came into parliament and joined the government he learnt about the fund which those in the government have enjoyed.
He asked who initiated the fund which started when Taiwan was here and then Peoples Republic of China (PRC).
MP Maneniaru added this fund is meant for those in the government side.
“If you are not in the government you will be denied the funds,” he said.
He said because of that it’s causing disunity amongst the leaders in parliament and the country.
It’s understood, some of the MPs are likely to receive $250,000.
Meanwhile, MP for East Central Guadalcanal Ishmael Avui said, next year, the NDF will be abolished which will be used directly into supporting projects.
“It (NDF) will be a thing of the past as of next year. It will be buried by PRC come next year,” he said.
