The former Member of Parliament for East Are’Are constituency in Malaita province Andrew Manepora’a has reclaimed his parliament seat this election.
The Kadere party of Solomon Islands (KPSI) candidate has reclaimed his seat by polling 2378 votes.
His runner up Andrew Hanaria Keniasina managed to poll 1913, followed by Edward Jacob Ronia with 194 votes and John Maxwell Harunari with only 74 votes.
Only four candidates are contesting the seat.
The returning officer for that constituency Patrick Taloni said that during the voting day, only 4376 casted their votes out of 4932 registered voters.
He revealed that out of those 4376 votes, 12 were also rejected due to mistakes done by voters during the voting day last week.
