THE Hearing of evidence into the alleged fraud case of the MP for Gao/Bugotu, Samuel Manetoali will start next week at the Honiara Magistrates’ Court.
The two weeks trial will commence on Monday next week before Principal Magistrate Fatima Taeburi.
Manetoali is facing 17 counts of conversion in relation to allegation in 2014.
This is in relation to allegations that the Minister for Forestry and Research allegedly diverted $100,000 of constituency funds to pay for a Christmas party hosted in 2014 at his Lengakiki residence.
The fund allegedly used was an advanced government grant paid to each of the 50 constituency in mid December, 2014.
The L & L Lawyers is representing Manetoali while Public Prosecutor Jasper Anisi is appearing for the Crown.
