NEWLY elected president of the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF), Donald Marahare has acknowledged the support rendered for the SIFF presidency post.
Marahare who is the SIFF Legal Counsel told SIFF Media following the election of the SIFF Executive he is happy for everyone who has supported him and have the trust in him to lead the SIFF office for the new term.
“A lot of people have contributed to this success; firstly I would like to thank the SIFF management and staff to really help out, others who also have supported me and my family who are very supportive.
“I’m happy to be elected as the new SIFF president and I’m also happy with the other executive members who will be joining me for the next term in office.
“Whilst I’m happy, the excitement should not let us be carried away from the main objective as to why we take up this responsibility.
“It’s a big responsibility and our work in developing football continues from today and onwards, moving the game we all love forward.
“I’m prepared and let us drive football development in the country,” Marahare said.
The new SIFF president revealed that the first thing that needs to be done is to meet with his executive to work on the immediate needs and plans going forward.
The new SIFF executive will use the strategic plan 2023/2026 passed by the congress to carry football forward.
Marahare said he would like to see the same support from the former executive under Willie Lai to continue, working together in achieving and reaching football goals as a federation under his leadership.
