Maranatha Church Choir from the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) in Honiara has toured Auki, Malaita province over the Easter break.
The choir was led by George Tango. They arrived in Auki on Good Friday and were accommodated at the SDA head quarter in Auki.
Speaking to this paper choir master Mr Tango said, as part of their tour they visited Talakali SDA Church on Saturday and Sunday returned to Auki.
Yesterday the group visited sick patients at Kilu’ufi hospital and inmates at the Auki Correctional Centre.
During the visit to the hospital choir members donated a cartoon of soap to the patients.
Mr Tango who has 20 years of experience in leading out a choir said, Maranatha choir has a lot of members but only 24 were selected for the tour to Malaita.
The choir staged their final performance at the SDA church in Auki last night and will return to Honiara today.
It’s the first time for the members to tour the province. Last year they toured the Western province.
Next year they plan to tour Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea (PNG).
